Bits ‘n’ Pieces: Writers strike a nice break for One Tree Hill star
The Hollywood writers strike wasn’t all bad. It provided actress Bethany Joy Galeotti, who portrays Haley on the television series “One Tree Hill,” a needed break.
She used the break to spend time with her husband, Michael, at their home in Battle Ground.
When Battle Ground residents first saw Bethany Joy around town, they would respond with a look of shock and the question, “What are you doing here?”
“Now when they see me in my Target sweats, hair pulled up and no makeup, they just look and think, ‘whatever,’ ” she said.
With the strike over, Bethany Joy will be back at work next week in North Carolina, where the CW Network drama is filmed.
“It was really nice to be home and living together as a couple for an extended period of time,” Bethany Joy said. Michael grew up in Clark County and graduated from Battle Ground High School. He met Bethany Joy in Los Angeles through friends, Richard Lee Jackson and Jonathan Jackson. Michael and the Jackson brothers are members of the band Enation.
The Galeottis married in 2005, but have only three months each year at home as a couple.
The rest of the year is filled with commuting to North Carolina.
“We try and not go more than two weeks without seeing each other,” Michael said.
